May walked along a dirt path near her hometown of Petalburg City. Her skitty was right along side of her. She was softly singing a song. “I don’t think that passenger seat, has ever looked this good to me. He tells me about his night, and I count the colors in his eyes.” She sung with her eyes closed, “He’ll never fall in love he swears as he runs his fingers though his hair. I’m laughing cause I hope he’s wrong. And I don’t think it ever crossed his mind, He tells a joke a fake a smile, But I know all his favorite songs. And I could tell you, his favorite colors green, He likes to argue….” She sung before Skitty interrupted her. “Nya!” She said. May opened her eyes, “What is it Skitty?” She asked leaning down. Skitty turned to over by a tree. May looked up and saw a blurry green figure in the distance. “What’s that?” She asked. “Nya!” Skitty said running towards it. “Skitty wait up!” May yelled running after her.

“Nya Nya!” Skitty yelled as it ran faster. The blurry figure started to come clearer. Skitty suddenly stopped and May tried stopping but stumbled over her own feet. She screamed as she was about to fall on her face. “May!” A familiar voice yelled running towards her. A young boy caught her in his arms. “You okay?” The boy asked. May blushed realizing the voice. She jumped away. “I’m Fine, Drew…” She said averting her eyes away, her face was covered with a crimson blush. Drew smirked, “That was quite a spill you almost had.” He said flicking a piece of his green hair. “Yeah…By the way…Thanks for catching me…” May said her eyes finally settling on him. “No problem, the way you usually stumble around I would think you would have countless bruises…” Drew said smirking still. “What’s that supposed to mean?” May asked putting her hands on her hips. “Nothing” Drew said. “So, where are you heading?” He asked. “I’m just going for a walk.” May said. “Mind if I come?” Drew asked. “I didn’t think you would want to be around such a clumsy girl.” May asked as she poked Drew in the chest. Drew chuckled, “Now when did I say that?” He asked as he put his hand under her chin and moved her head upwards. May jumped and backed up. “What do you think your doing?” She asked. “What did I do?” Drew asked as he blinked. “Uh…nothing…” May said blushing again. “I don’t care if you come….” She said as she returned Skitty. She started walking. Drew ran to catch up with her.

“Haven’t seen you in many contests, got tired of losing?” He asked in a cocky tone of voice. “For your information! I am taking a break from them!” May yelled at him. “Calm down! Can’t you take a joke?” Drew asked laughing. “Not from some rude jerk.” May said crossing her arms. ‘She thinks I’m a jerk?’ Drew asked himself in his mind. ‘Ah, what do I care if she does.’ He thought again as he shrugged. They both were about two miles from Petalburg by now. “It looks like it’s going to get dark soon…” May said looking at the sunset. “Yeah…” Drew said. The sky was covered with dark clouds. They both heard a rumble, “What was that?” May asked. “Sounds like thunder…” Drew said. “Thunder? Don’t that mean it’s going to rain?! And were going to get soaked any minute now!” May panicked, and if on cue. The rain started to come down. “Ahhhh!” May yelled. Drew groaned as he took May by the hand and started to pulled her. “Where are we going?!” May yelled. “Shelter!” Drew yelled as he looked around. They were both getting soaked. Drew spotted a cave. “Come on!” He yelled as he pulled her over to it.

May and Drew both made it into the cave, they were panting. “I….guess we…could…stay… here...until the rain…stops…” May said between breaths. Drew nodded, he was bend over, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. May sat on the ground. She crossed her arms and rubbed her arms. “Brrr, Its cold…” She muttered under her breath. Drew looked up at her. “Cold?” He asked. “Hm…” He said looking around. He walked to the back of the cave and came back with a couple of rocks. He placed them on the ground. May watched him as he walked towards the entrance of the cave. He ran out into the rain and over to a tree. He quickly started picking up the branches on the ground. He dashed over to the cave. “Send…out…Blaziken…” He said as he placed the wood on the ground. May nodded and sent out her Blaziken. “Command it to use ember on the wood….” Drew said as he took out a piece of paper from his pocket. He ripped up the paper and placed it on the wood. “Blaziken use Ember” May said pointing to the wood. “Blaziken!” Her Blaziken said using the move. The wood lit on fire. “There, we have fire” Drew said smiling at May. May smiled back and moved closer to the fire. “I’m actually surprised those damp branches lit on fire…” Drew said as he sat down. May stared at him, looking like she was in some sort of daze. ‘I can’t believe you did that to get wood to make a fire…..and better yet, because I said I was cold!’ May though. Drew looked at her. “Are you ok?” He asked as he placed a hand on her forehead, checking her temperature. May blushed, “I’m fine” She said. “Really? You fell kind of warm.” Drew said as he put the back of his hand on her cheek. ‘I really nope she’s okay….’ He thought concerned. May still looked at him, ‘Man, he’s so hot!’ She thought smiling. She shook her head. ‘No, he’s only a rival and would never like me!’ She yelled in her head at herself. Drew was still concerned, ‘She looks so cute….’ He thought. ‘Wait, why am I thinking that? She just thinks of me as a rude jerk…’ He thought with a sigh. “Well if you say your okay…” He said as he took his hand off her cheek. They both dried off from the fire.

‘Maybe I should ask him if he feels the same way I do….’ May thought. “Drew….” She said. “Hm?” Drew asked looking up at her from the fire. “Could I asked you something?” May asked. “Uh, can I say something first?” Drew asked. “Sure” May said wondering what her wanted to say. Drew let out a deep sigh as he cupped her cheek with his hands, May gasped. “I just wanted to say…that I love you….your my love…my rose…” He said, “I know you probably don’t feel the same but…I just had to say that…” Drew said looking in her eyes. May started to cry, not a sad cry but a happy cry. “I’m sorry May” Drew said. “I’m not sad” May said. “Huh?” Drew asked then May’s arms wrapped around him. “I love you too” She said. It took a few minute for Drew to realize it but then hugged her back. “You don’t know how happy it makes me to hear you say that….” Drew said as he pulled away from her. He wiped her tears away. May noticed his face get closer before their foreheads were touching. Her face burned. “You also don’t know how much I wanted to do this…..” Drew whispered as his lips got closer to hers. May’s breath went away for a second as Drew’s lips went onto hers, a kiss. May started to kiss him back as she closed her eyes. May’s lips were as soft as velvet and tasted like strawberries…Drew just wanted more. He licked the bottom of her lips, asking permission. May rejected and pulled away. She looked away blushing, “That’s going a little too far….too fast….” She said. Drew blushed in embarrassment. “Sorry….” He said. “It’s okay….I still love you though….” May said nuzzling her head on his neck. Drew smiled and hugged her again.

The sun went down, the rain was still pouring, and May fell asleep, She was on Drew’s lap with her head in his chest. Drew’s arms were wrapped around her. He looked at her, “My love….My rose…..” He said as he kissed her forehead.
